The Generation Gap

We had a Chestin moment at our house tonight. James hasn't been feeling well all afternoon. He decided after dinner to throw up and then he seemed fine so I went back to folding laundry downstairs. I would call up to him every couple of minutes and ask if he was okay. Finally he said, "Mom if you ask me one more time if I feel okay you are going to make my head explode!" (He did throw up again so my questions we being warrented!)

How fast life speeds by!

As I was sitting on the couch folding laundry yesterday, James brought me some books to read to him. I set my laundry aside for a minute and he snuggled into my lap and we read a couple of books. I realized yesterday, that these are the last few days I have at home with my baby alone before our lives change again. The other kids will be home for the summer and then they all go off to school together next year. Was it really 5 years ago that my baby was born in the midst of moving across the country, changing jobs again and entering an already busy family? I can't believe it. I am very excited about this new phase in life and I am also very sad. I will miss our days alone of running errands in the car together, his non-stop chatter about the important things in our life and his random kisses in the middle of the day just because "I love you,Mom." He is just so darn funny and irresistable. He was ready for lunch yesterday and he does very well making a Peanut Butter with Cinnamon sugar sandwich. He asked if he could make lunch and carefully got everything out. He asked me if he could make me a sandwich. Sure James! The sandwich was "Delicious" He lovingly made me a Peanut Butter, cinnamon sugar, turkey and cheese sandwich. It really was an random combination that he thought would be great. He told me after that next time he is going to try adding grape jelly to the mix. It might be better he said. Off to enjoy my last few hours with my baby alone! :-)

I finally listed it!

About 6 months ago I made this baby boy album. I love the color scheme of the kit it came from. I finally listed it in my new shop on etsy. Take a look and tell me what you think. More to come if this one flies! :-)

Lovely Little Things

This has been a couple of weeks filled with "lovely little things" Here are some:

~Bill has a job! From Bill's Email: "Here is proof that Phoenix is getting a light rail. The contractor next to us took this aerial photo of the far east end of our job a few months ago. Our job extends all the way into the down town area. The large build to the left of the high rises is Chase Ballpark – where the Diamondback play. Our we have built track right next to it and thru the heart of the downtown."

~The kids were grounded from TV, Playstation and computer games on Sunday, so we have had one (almost 2) days of creative playing. James has gone crazy with his pirates of the Caribbean legos. They all were in the back yard last night playing baseball. I like this punishment!

~Our doggie is so sweet. She follows me around where ever I go and she loves to have a couple of "treats" with her meals each day.

~I found this cool new scrapbooking "blog" that has scrapbook challenges that encompass using up your stash. I had a couple of minutes today to use at least 50 stickers and scrapbook an inanimate object.

~I registered James for kindergarten today. They don't know if it will be full day or 1/2 day yet. Depends on Federal Funding....Guessing it will be 1/2 if that is what we are waiting on. Maybe it is a good thing I decided to put school on hold again. I just can't do what I am not feeling good about.

~I have a lovely home. It keeps me safe, cool and I feel so happy when I am here.

~I have the BEST friends that I have ever had. You girls keep me happy and sane! :-)

Another Week gone by

I can't believe how quickly time goes. I spent Monday and Tuesday getting ready for Grant's Birthday, then Wednesday I took Amber to the dentist! Then Thursday and Today I spent painting doors white it the house. (We have repainted all the ceilings and trim from contractor dirty white to bright white.) I forgot how much I love to paint until I dig everything out again. I am motivated to finish the half bath and the laundry now. Bill is in charge of "decorating" the boys room, so I am waiting for the design plan before I proceed any further than the doors. Billie's room is done except for inside her closet. Again Bill is involved, so that isn't something I choose to tackle on my own. We are going to demo out her current shelf and put in a closet organizer system.

I had a pamperedchef party last Friday and look what showed up on my doorstep today! I LOVE PC. They are so fast and effecient. I closed my party on Monday night of this week. I have need some new pans for a while. My last set Mom and Dad gave Bill and I for Christmas the first year we were married. (11 1/2 years ago) They have been great pans. but I love to cook so much I needed an upgrade and some more saucepan types. Aren't they beautiful. Off to bed. We are taking Grant to see Spiderman 3 first matinee of the day! :-)

My new car!

Well not yet, but I am working my hubby. Isn't it cute! Can't you see me and my pigtails driving down the road in this baby. I love the bright color! I haven't test drove yet, but I will soon!

I can hardly believe it, but my baby is 9. He is no longer a baby, no longer a little boy, not really even a little kid. He is just a kid. Yesterday on his birthday he was caught throwing balled up wet paper towels at the walls and ceiling. He is denying any involvement other than that he hates the way the bathroom soap smells, so he dropped the soap into the middle of the paper towel and balled it up and got it wet and was washing his hands like that. Hmmm...I am not sure what to believe, but since it is his birthday I guess we are giving him the benefit of the doubt.
I was a "slacker" this year and Grant got a store bought cake with a little homemade flair. I stuck the Pokemon pack on top of it and wrote his name and such. :-) I just didn't have the energy this year and I didn't start looking for a Pokemon cake pan soon enough. So store bought it is and he will probably not even remember. :-) He requested stuffed hamburgers for dinner so we had that accompanied by curly fries and a nice green salad (that actually no one ate b/c the burgers were so big). He got lots of neat presents from family. He will be set with swimming, Pokemon, paper airplane making and outdoor sporting events. I also instituted a new rule in our home: If you buy it YOU wrap it. Bill did the shopping this year and the only thing that was square was the box that the sling shot was in. :-) Have you ever wrapped a bat? And the fishing pole did not get wrapped. :-)
