List of things we have done so far...(G-rated)

1. Went to Taco Bell at 9:30 at night. Can you imagine?
2. Had a couple's massage! It was great!
3. Went to IKEA all alone...got some great stuff, stay tuned!
4. Went to the mall and shopped only in stores we wanted to.
5. Went to Village Inn at 9:00 at night alone!
6. Got home well past 10, didn't have to take the babysitter home, let the dogs out, or heard kids to bed. It was weird to just come home and go to bed!
7. Slept in until...wait...are you ready...8:30! Isn't that sad. We used to be able to sleep in until 9:30 or even 10:30 some times. I guess when you get up in the morning at 4:00 that is sleeping in.
8. Swam in the pool.
9. Skipped lunch. No one was complaining that they were starving.
10. Watched 2 movies uninterrupted.

Now are weekend of fun is over...time to go back to work for a couple of days and then join the kids in the land of rolling hills and less people.

We interrupt our life for a dream sequence...

I jet setted my way to South Dakota yesterday. I left Phoenix at 8:30 am with the kids and returned solo by 2:00pm. Not bad for a days work. Bill and I embarked on a week long date. Only to be interrupted by work! It has been quietly peaceful so far. Bill is sound asleep tonight after another major dental visit. I am doing really fun things...folding laundry and washing dishes. :-) The kids are having a blast with G & G D! Grandpa reported tonight that they ran back and forth around the house, back and forth and back again. I think the kids must be worn out today as James ran out of things to say at the end of the phone conversation!

All I can say is WOW! That was fun. What do you think? Do they fit me? Oh~and just for the record I don't plan to marry again. Some of you know my "business plan" if anything were to happen to Bill. So I find that song quit suiting at this point in my life. I'm Just saying! Play along if you like. I love my i-pod and my music.

The great spider hunter

This is a story of a spider...whose demise was eminent. Here's how the story goes. Early one morning in the hot desert village of Buckeye, a young mother went to get herself prepared for the day. As she pulled the shower curtain back she jumped back in horror. A spider was investigating the bottom of the shower. This particular young mother debated the great debate. wake up her oh so brave son, or wake up the even braver daughter. She decided to wake them both up. The brave son came in with a book to take care of the wandering spider. He took one look and said, "Oh this book isn't going to do the job." So he left the scene and came back with his long shot nerf gun. "Don't worry mom, he said outloud. I will take care of this for you." And with one shot, he splattered the spider into oblivion. My hero, the great spider hunter.

Saturday Snapshot

Look at my cute man enjoying his handywork. We really wanted a double deck chair so while this kids are swimming we can lounge in comfort. Everything we priced was more than we wanted to spend. So for around $250 we were able to make this ourselves. We checked a couple of books out of the library that had chaise lounges in them and Bill created this masterpiece. It is the size of a king size bed! I made the cover for the pad out of sunbrella and the otherside has pretty red and blue flowers on in. It reclines into 3 different angles and then lays flat also. It is awesome! We can fit everyone on it if we want.

I couldn't resist this shot! We got up early this morning and it was just the three of us and so we decided to make rice krispie treats! James wanted to stir and the pan kept sliding so Billie walked over and grabbed the handles so it wouldn't slide. This team work at its finest!

Editors Note: Bill said these were the best rice krispies he has ever had! So here is my recipe to share for all. (and for me to remember how I made them).

2 bags of jet puffed marshmallows (not the mini ones)
1 stick of Butter (real butter for this girl)

Melt together in a big deep pan stirring constantly

12 cups of rice Krispie cereal waiting in a big fat thatsa bowl

The first thing I do is pour about 5 cups of the cereal into the mixture on the stove to "pre-mix" then I pour that all out over the rice krispies in the bowl and mix until all combined. I poured it into a 9 x 13 casserole dish and a square 10 x 10 tupperware container. To make it nice and flat and pretty I get my hands wet with hot water and press it down. (My hands are wet, not dripping, but wet) I makes the top nice and pretty and I don't have sticky hands. I have also used the butter wrapper to press it down. Enjoy!
