James was least excited about this 5 mile walk up South Mountain. We started at 6:30 am and got to the top just before 9. Not too bad for our first year.
The kids at one of the stops. They had stops set up at 1/2 mile and then each mile after that. There were radio stations blaring music, companies giving away things like gum, chocolate, water, bagels and coffee. It was definitely a leisurely walk.

I even went along!
Bill and James at the top. We basically took turns pulling James to the top. He wasn't as excited as the other two. We kept telling him if he put half of his energy into walking instead of talking... Well, you can probably guess how well that worked. He had great stories though. And better ideas of what he could have been doing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was a great event!
It is one we will plan on attending each year that we can while we live in Phoenix.
As Cancer is such a prevelant disease in my family tree,
it is a cause we feel very emotional about!
