Happy Thankgiving!

If I was wearing a T-shirt to Thanksgiving Dinner this is what it would be. (I could really spend hours on Cafepress reading funny shirts.) T-shirts are not in my Thanksgiving wardrobe. Sweaters, tights, and coats are what we packed. Brrr...It's gonna be cold. I am excited for the quick trip to the tundra for good food, great company, late nights, laughter and more memories!

I hope you each have a happy and joy filled Thanksgiving. Oh and if you don't like cooking don't worry, last year I rebeled and this was our thanksgiving and no one EVEN had nightmares past the first week.

I am growing a Mustache...

I am growing a Mo:
Okay, not really! But Bill Jack is growing a great "Mo" in support of Movember. I am an honorary Mo Sista in support of this "fun"draiser. Men's Health is the cause.

PROSTATE CANCER
1 in 6 men will get prostate cancer and in 2008,
more than 28,000 men in the US will die from the disease.
TESTICULAR CANCER
because it's the most common cancer in young men aged 18 to 35.
The objective of Movember is to improve the state of men's health.
Movember achieves its objective by:
1.Generating awareness surrounding men's health issues, specifically prostate cancer and depression in men
2.Raising funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation so they may better achieve their goals and improve the state of men's health
3.Changing the way men think about, discuss and treat their own health issues

My baby is 7.

Birthday Cake...years ago he rebeled and wanted an Ice Cream Cake instead of a homemade cake Now it is tradition. This year it is Scooby Do!
Grant and Billie are helping James read his card!
Reading another Card by himself.
I can't believe it. James turned 7 last week. When he was born 7 years ago I didn't think I was ready for baby #3. Billie was only 16 months old and I had a 3 year old. But God knew I could handle him and he was the best baby, toddler, and he has grown into a great kid. I mean if our problems with him stem from his over active mouth (he talks ALOT) then I think we are pretty blessed. To many more Happy Birthdays my little stinky!

Are you a Quilter

Feeling Lucky? Most of the girls in my family quilt. Not really me. My mom handed me back a quilt I started in High School and here it sits unfinished. But this girl has charming quilts. Vintage Modern looking and I love them. Click on the Feeling Lucky for a giveaway she is doing...my kind of give away she will actually make the quilt for you if you want!
How SWEET is that?

Urine or you're out

Friday's thought:

THE JOB - URINE TEST
(Whoever wrote this one deserves a HUGE pat on the back!)
Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test with which I have no problem. What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test.
Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them? Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their A--, doing drugs, while I work. . . . Can you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?
I guess we could title that program, 'Urine or You're Out'.

Kitchen Sneak Peak

My manly husband has been working on getting our new kitchen addition up and ready for our visitors this week.
Here are a couple of works in progress.

New Hair

My friend and I go to the same hair girl and we finally were able to get our appointments scheduled at the same time. We had a great afternoon with lots of fun conversation and laughs. Hopefully Felicia and Amber had as great time. I found Felicia when I cut my hair off almost 3 years ago to donate to locks of love. I walked into the salon and she was in total shock when I asked her to cut it all off. Talk about jumping into a trusting relationship. I totally went out on a limb and she has never disappointed me. I love her and she is amazing. I usually go in and say I need something fresh and she works her magic. Today I was ready for some fresh color and a few more layers. Red Copper is the red color she popped in. It will fade to a nice coppery blond color over time. Thanks Amber and Felicia for a fun afternoon. See you again in February! :-)

Favorite Book Characters

The kids were only allowed to dress up at school if they wore costumes that represented their favorite book character. I thought that was a great idea and we found costumes that worked really well and the kids were happy with.

(Mom do we have to smile, can't we go yet poses?)
Slappy, the dummy from Goosebumps (aka Grant)
Queen Lucy from Chronicles of Narnia (aka Billie)
King Peter from Chronicles of Narnia (aka James)

Because I am an AMERICAN!

Last night I sat down with my laptop and filled out my early ballot. (I definately wasn't early.) Today after work I will go drop it off at my polling place. I want to remember that I cast my vote in this historic election. I heard a media person say the other day (I don't remember if I was watching TV or listening to the radio to be honest) that we should go back to the "olden" days where you voted for a president and the guy/gal in second place should be the VP. Wouldn't that be interesting! And talk about change: Parties would be forced to get along and make those changes together instead of finger pointing. But it is what it is and whom ever wins today will be faced with an uphill battle. I hope that the country, the economy and the world can weather the storm. Anyone want to buy food storage?

Update: I dropped off my early ballot! It felt great! I voted!
